Cop Cot

Located near the entrance at Central Park South and 6th Avenue, Cop Cot is one of the oldest structures in the park. This rustic wooden shelter, whose name means "little house on the crest of the hill" in Scottish, provides a peaceful, shaded spot perfect for contemplation or a quiet lunch.


Wagner Cove

Tucked away on the edge of The Lake, Wagner Cove features a quaint wooden shelter with benches, surrounded by nature. This secluded spot, ideal for a romantic date or quiet reflection, is located just west of Cherry Hill and east of the 72nd Street and Central Park West entrance.


The Charles B. Stover Bench in Shakespeare Garden

Known as the whispering bench, this 20-foot curled granite piece in Shakespeare Garden is a hidden gem. Located on the west side of the park between 79th and 80th streets, it doubles as a memorial for Charles B. Stover, a former NYC Parks Commissioner.


Arthur Ross Pinetum

This small arboretum near 85th Street on the west side of the park is home to the largest collection of pine trees in Central Park. It features a playground, picnic tables, and open lawns, making it a perfect spot for family picnics and outdoor activities.


The Pool

Despite its name, The Pool is not for swimming. Located on the west side off Central Park West and 100th Street, this serene body of water is surrounded by benches, ducks, turtles, and weeping willows, along with several man-made waterfalls.


Hallett Nature Sanctuary

Recently reopened to the public, the Hallett Nature Sanctuary is a peaceful haven for nature lovers. This sanctuary, once overrun by invasive species, has been meticulously restored and now offers walking trails, a rustic gate made from old trees, and benches crafted from black locust wood.
