A Journey Through Time
The museum features six exhibit galleries, each showcasing different aspects of firefighting history. From the earliest hand-drawn and horse-drawn fire engines dating back to the 18th century to modern motorized apparatus, the Hall of Flame offers a comprehensive look at the evolution of firefighting technology. Visitors can marvel at over 130 wheeled pieces and thousands of smaller objects, including fire marks, helmets, and extinguishers.
Interactive Exhibits and Activities
One of the highlights of the museum is the children’s play area, where young visitors can climb aboard a real 1952 American La France fire engine from Miami, Arizona. This hands-on experience allows kids to feel like real firefighters, sparking their imaginations and appreciation for the bravery of firefighters. Additionally, a 50-seat theater in Gallery I plays a 10-minute introductory video, providing an overview of the museum's exhibits and firefighting history.
Hall of Heroes
The Hall of Heroes is a moving tribute to the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. This gallery features the names and photographs of thousands of American firefighters who have died while serving their communities, as well as those recognized for acts of heroism. A special display honors the 343 FDNY firefighters who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

The Hall of Flame is dedicated to educating the public about fire safety and prevention. The museum offers a variety of educational programs, including field trips and tours that teach the principles of fire safety behavior. Plan Your Visit
The Hall of Flame Museum of Firefighting is conveniently located at 6101 East Van Buren Street, across from the Phoenix Zoo and near the borders of Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tempe. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with last admission at 5 p.m. Admission fees are $17 for adults, $15 for seniors and students, $10 for children aged 3-5, and free for children under 3. Special rates are available for groups of ten or more with advance reservation.
